February 2008 SJAA Newsletter

Parents of St. Jude,

The Athletic Board meets at least once a month to ensure the sports programs run as smoothly and efficiently as possible. The meetings are open to observation and the dates are posted on our webpage. Trust that all members do their best to continually improve upon the extra curricular sports programs that enhance our children's education.

Winter Sports

We are proud that the Winter Basketball and Cheerleader programs this year involve app. 300 students, well over half the enrollment in the school. Coupled with the assistance of all the coaches, parents and SJAA, this is a great accomplishment that can only improve as we merge with St. Agnes school and procure our own gym in the near future.

Spring Track and Softball

Even if you missed Spring Track/Softball registrations, we will still take mail-in registrations until March 1, 2008. Registration forms can be downloaded from our website and sent into school, care of the A.D. Registrations will also be available at the Micro-mini basketball games every Saturday morning.

Webpage

Please remember to check our webpage at http://saintjudesaa.org/

This is a great resource, as we keep all pertinent information up to date concerning the athletic programs. Look for new sections being added, as in the recent "St. Jude's Headlines" for the basketball teams. There are also email links to the AD and the Board for any questions, comments, or suggestions you may have.

Dinner Social

Lastly, SJAA is having a fundraiser, "St. Valentine Day Social" on February 9, 8pm, at the Holy Family Parish Hall. Proceeds will go towards the improvement of the soccer fields. Tickets may be purchased from any Board member or request from the website. They are also on sale during the Micro-mini basketball games. We look forward to everyone attending (for what we hope will be) this annual event.

Thank you,

Jerry Stefencavage
